Controlled sample

A complete Sample Store Check

This is the report produced from a full Store Check on Tern & Oak, a private Shopify test Store controlled by Store Steward.

It shows how we define the sample, document evidence, rank findings and set out the work that should happen next.

Some test conditions were added deliberately to an unpublished theme copy. The review also found problems that were already present across every theme preview. This is not client work and it makes no claim about sales, conversion or revenue.

15-page report. Nine findings. No changes made.

Sample disclosure

Clear about what this work represents

01

What this sample is

A complete Store Check carried out on a controlled test Store, using the same report structure prepared for paid work.

02

What this sample is not

It is not a client case study, a testimonial or evidence of a commercial result. The private Store address is withheld.

Report summary

Nine findings, ordered by urgency and impact

The review found no critical issues, two high-priority issues, six medium-priority issues and one low-priority issue.

The most urgent finding is a cart that announces an empty state while it still shows the removed product and price. The second high-priority finding is a mobile product header that disappears when the page first opens in the controlled Before theme.

Four findings were controlled test conditions. Five were existing problems found in the Before, reference and updated theme previews.

What we reviewed

A defined sample of the storefront

The review covered the homepage, primary navigation and footer, one collection, three product pages, search, cart, entry into checkout, the 404 experience and representative desktop and mobile viewports.

Because Tern & Oak is a protected test Store, Shopify Admin was used only to identify the theme copies, generate isolated previews and create a separate Horizon 4.1.4 update draft. Every finding is based on observable storefront behavior.

No theme was published or replaced. No order or payment was completed, and no correction was made as part of the Store Check.

Findings at a glance

Update checked first

The update preserved four fixes but left five problems unresolved

Before the report was closed, Store Steward checked Horizon 4.1.4 in a separate unpublished copy. The update kept the four controlled fixes but did not resolve the five findings present in every preview.

No code was transferred, and the update copy was not published. It remains an evaluation draft only.

Clear limits

What the sample does not claim

The Store Check is a representative review at a point in time. It is not an exhaustive audit of every page, configuration or business system.

It is not a complete SEO, CRO, security or accessibility audit. Lighthouse, axe and a physical iPhone were not available for this sample, so those limitations are stated in the report.

The report recommends next steps but does not include corrections. Any implementation requires a separate written scope and fixed price.
